Climate change impact assessment
The purpose of this assessment is to help us understand the likely impacts of our decisions on the environment of North Yorkshire and on our aspiration to achieve net carbon neutrality by 2030, or as close to that date as possible. The intention is to mitigate negative effects and identify projects which will have positive effects.
This document should be completed in consultation with the supporting guidance. The final document will be published as part of the decision making process and should be written in Plain English.

The option to not progress with the Playzone application for funding support from the Football Foundation was considered but rejected. This was because the opportunity to significantly upgrade an asset owned by the Council would be lost, along with the wider benefits of addressing access to safe a high quality play facilities for the target groups.

Whilst specifications are not currently available, it is likely that an upgrade to floodlighting will use up to date low-energy LED bulbs, reducing the energy required. It is not possible quantify any CO2e saving at this stage of a grant application. |

This Climate Change Impact Assessment has highlighted the proposed upgrade to the MUGA has a broadly neutral impact as compared to the current operation, with the exception that final specification of floodlighting offers the opportunity to use a modern and efficient low energy solution.
